Eyelid Surgery in Kalamazoo at Parkway Plastic Surgery

As the old adage goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul. Through them, we express how we’re feeling emotionally and physically. Unfortunately, hereditary factors and aging can negatively impact the appearance of our eyes, so that what they project is not really how we feel. Eyelid surgery can help reverse these effects.

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and muscle along with fatty tissue, if necessary, from either or both the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery improves drooping skin and bagginess. In older patients, vision can be improved by reducing upper eyelids that are obstructing their vision.

Eyelid surgery will not remove crow’s feet, eliminate dark pigmented circles under the eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows and does not stop the process of aging. Eyelid surgery is individualized for every patient and can be performed alone involving upper, lower, or both eyelid regions or in conjunction with other surgical procedures of the eyes, face, brow, or nose.
